Basic Information
Our company is a leader in the chestnut trading and processing sector. Today we deal with the trade of fresh chestnuts and the subsequent transformation into dried chestnuts, flour and chestnut grains. Our production plant is located in the Cutro Industrial Zone (KR) Bivio Lenza, and covers an area of 10,000 m2, of which 5,000 m2 used as warehouses and premises. The pre-stressed concrete industrial shed houses cold rooms and machinery for processing chestnuts and legumes.Our story begins way back in 1915, in Calabria, Italy, with Domenico, progenitor of our family, who began working in the world of chestnuts, and has continued for 4 generations. The company Diletto Pasquale & C. sas, currently operating, was instead founded in 1989, thanks to the initiative and perseverance of Pasquale Diletto, who brings the company the extra step necessary in order to "grow up". He was born in 1936 in Cutro, and from a very young age he began working in the world of chestnuts, thanks to his father's company, operating mostly in the trade of fresh chestnuts, specializing however later in the production, transformation and marketing of fresh, dried, chestnut grains and flour. As often happens, passion and work ambition are handed down from father to son. This is the case of our company which passed from Mr. Pasquale (born in 1936) to his sons Domenico and Vito, who subsequently handed over the reins to Pasquale (born in 1998), a young economics graduate.Our flour is obtained by grinding the best quality controlled chestnuts.It is velvety to the touch and fine on the palate with a grain size of less than 0.6 mm of which at least 90% is less than or equal to 0.3 mm. with maximum humidity of 9%.Sweet on the palate, with a sugar content of not less than 22% with a characteristic aroma of chestnuts and no musty or stale smell. The color varies from white to ivory.Suitable for coeliacs, as it is gluten-free.
